other than photography

Well I have been going crazy these past few months. grrrrrr. I have been watching this new show that i have falling in LOVE with and his name is the Nate Berkus show. He has been showing me how to re purpose old furniture and redesigning my house. Here is my big first BIG project that i did.

When i saw this i fell in love with it and i REALLY wanted to try this project out. sooo I did with a few little battles with Jim this is how it came out. I'm happy with it.

Here is the before pic of the mirror.
Thanks to my good friend who had gotten me this mirror.
Thank yooouu!

I took all of the backing off and the mirror. Had to fight with Jim so I can do this. For some reason he does not trust me with sharp things.

Then i let Jim sand the frame down because he is the big man. haha
we sand down the dip scratches that were on the frame.

Here we used lacker to take off the back gray paint off from the mirror to revel the reflective coating. Wax on wax off motion.

Then we spray paint muratic acid onto the reflective parts and scrub it until we can see throw the glass

Jim didn't want to share with his gloves.

Then i had spry painted the frame white and distress it

then we used mod podge to put the fabric onto the mirror. ** another great idea of Jim's**

Put everything together and am done! YAY ME!

Old abandoned bus stop

I had just recently gone and visited my little home town Camp Verde Az. One morning a friend and I had walk to work to help promote physical fitness and in collaboration with Earth Day. So I had thought great this is a good time to take some photos of the Middle Verde Reservation. But my smart ass for got to clear out my memory card. so here are some photos that I was able to get before my card ran out of memory.

The cost of photojournalism

Thank you to Jeff Foss for letting me come in and hang out with you.

I recently had the opportunity to shadow job over Jeff Foss chief photographer down at Ch 2 news in Reno. I was given the grand tour of the ins and outs in news and broadcasting.  Watching Jeff do his thing, he was all over the place up high down low trying I mean trying not to fall. At one point of the day Jeff turns to me and says "There is a wall between you and the subject that you are shooting. There are no personal connection there, you have to keep a professional appeal while you are out shooting." I understood where he was coming from but hearing this kinda got me down because I love to talk while I'm photographing and getting the hole story behind the photo.

At one point of the day I started to think how far would a photojournalism go just to get the great shot? I have always known how far a photographer would go to get the perfect image. I have read an article about money vs ethics, at what point should the photographer drop the camera and try to save people? The photograph, while important, isn't worth letting someone die over. I could ask the same question to myself how far would i or even jeff go just to get that one shot, the truth is that I have no answer.  Looking at my photos, I have done some shady things just to get the shot. I guess the real question is I am really ready to put someone's life on the line just to get a photo, time will only tell what will happen.
